Brothers departs

Michael Brothers has left Regent to join fellow Ryman league side Needham Market.

Regent have announced that Michael Brothers has left the club to join Needham Market. Regent received a 7 day transfer for Michael on Sunday evening and have allowed Michael to join the club immediately once Michael made it clear he wished to join the Marketmen.
Brightlingsea boss James Webster admitted being disappointed by the news, but understood the striker’s reasons for rejoining one his former clubs.
“It’s sad news and comes as a big blow, because we’re playing so well at the moment,” he said.
“But Needham are on another planet compared to us in terms of financial clout.
“Michael has a young family to support so when that amount of money is offered, in addition to a two-year deal, I don’t think anyone could turn it down.
“He’s been great for us since he came in and given everyone a big lift, both on and off the pitch.
“He’s a good character and I only have positive things to say about Bruvs, just a shame sometimes how these things happen but I guess that's football.
“We all wish him well.”
Michael played 11 games since joining the R's on the eve of the 5-0 home win against Thamesmead where he made his debut, in his time he scored 4 goals and added 3 assists.
