Brightlingsea Regent are delighted to announce that Walker Shabazz-Edwards has signed for Premier League Ipswich Town FC following a successful trial period.

The 17 year old defender has been hugely impressive for the R's this season and hadn't gone unnoticed with plenty of professional clubs taking a look at him.

Walker took to Instagram with the news "Delighted to sign my first professional contract for Ipswich Town"

R's manager Ryan Salter who also coached Walker at the Sigma Sixth Football Academy was over the moon for him "My proudest moment in football so far is working so closely with Walker and seeing him agree terms professionally. He has worked so hard to get where he is today and I believe he will go all the way"

It was fantastic to see a queue of young fans at North Road on Saturday all wanting a picture with the rising star.

We must give a huge thanks to Ipswich Town FC for their co-operation and allowing us to keep Walker at Regent until the end of the season, as we reach the business end of our campaign.
